Description

The Department of Communication Sciences at Ghent University, Belgium, consists of seven full-time and three part-time professors, two PhD lecturers and around 30 research and teaching assistants. The department has expertise in the different fields of communication science and media studies, including media economy, media sociology, media policy, media law, intellectual property law, new media and ICT, film and television studies, communication research methodology and communication management.

Several members of the Department of Communication Sciences are actively involved in international research projects and networks, such as the Euromedia Research Group, the ESF Changing Media Changing Europe Programme and the COST A20 network. The department offers a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in "Communication Sciences" and a Master's Degree in "Journalism".
